2D game development

SCAD ITGM 430 | 2D game design & development

The 2D Game Design and Development course is an intermediate programming class, picking up where ITGM 220 stopped.

Using scripting techniques (C#) to support game logic, students design working digital game prototypes using the industry-standard 2-D design tool, Unity.

Students are encouraged to go further in their understanding of game design fundamentals and game theory, and focus their game design projects on innovative and experimental gameplay by realizing functional C# prototypes.

The lectures rely on 3 pillars:

  • Coding in C#.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation.
  • Optimizing the art creation pipeline.
